Lijnco goes green! 4 projects in the context of sustainability.

Project manager Bart Tenfelde takes you along the various projects that are running with the theme of sustainability.

Lijnco has a heart for its surroundings and the environment and also wants to organize its production processes as efficiently as possible. That is why we are working on the following projects:

1. Installation of 4500 solar panels on our roofs
In total, more than 4500 panels are installed on our roofs. This produces more 1.2 million kWh of green electricity annually. This allows us to run all our machines during our day shifts. For our customers this means that Lijnco produces your order CO2 neutral!

2. In winter: heat recovery
We have installed a system that filters hot exhaust air from our printing presses and compressors and blows it back into the factory hall. As a result, we have heating in production in winter without using traditional natural gas heating.
This means that Lijnco is completely off natural gas for heating the hall and is setting a good example, right here in Groningen.

3. ..and in the summer: cooling
In the summer it can get very hot between the machines. This is undesirable for both the employees and the machines and the quality of the end product.
That is why Lijnco has invested in so-called Oxy-com units. These are a kind of sustainable air conditioners that work by evaporating water and extracting the cold that is released during this process.
The advantage of these systems is that cooling is 85% more energy efficient than conventional air conditioners.
That means:
Fresh air, for a healthy and concentrated employee
The right climate for high-quality and fast production of your order and fewer disruptions in the production process.

4. Last, but not least: LED lighting
Lijnco is a 24-hour company and therefore also works through the night. Of course we need good lighting for this.
Lijnco has chosen to make the transition to economical LED daylight lighting, which means major energy savings. An additional advantage is the effect of this type of lighting on the human bio-rhythm, which is less disturbed than with conventional solutions.
