Label blocks with a medical application for Certe

Today we are going to talk about the production of labels with a medical application. In practice, this apparently basic product has to meet high requirements, in terms of material, printing technique and color fastness, security and even the adhesive. At Lijnco we are happy to take on this challenge for you.

Certificate

For example, we supply label blocks with covers to Certe, a specialist in medical diagnoses. In other words: the blood taken is analyzed there. Certe uses the labels with color bars and barcode throughout the entire primary process, good and reliable labels are therefore of fundamental importance.

The process

Blood collection, tubes, labels and colors
At the GP or at an puncture clinic, blood is taken in the tubes you are probably familiar with. A barcode label is pasted on the form on which the examinations to be held are ticked. Each blood tube has a cap with its own color that indicates different tests. The label with exactly the same color is stuck on the tube. We have been able to reproduce the colors of the caps so accurately by taking measurements with professional scanning equipment.

In the analysis center

Scan and enter
Once in the analysis center, barcodes are scanned, in this way both the examination and the results are linked to the correct patient. During the further process, barcodes are automatically scanned, just like the colours.

The material chosen for this has special properties for perfect machine processing. For this, a machine-coated type of paper has been used with optimal reflection for problem-free and fast reading of the barcode on the various machines.

Labels must adhere very well to the tubes, otherwise machines will experience problems with the automatic feed. After an extensive test process, the special Permanent-Pro-Fix (PPF) adhesive was chosen.

Analyzing
Analysis is done completely by machine, the measured values are digitally processed and here again linked to the correct patient file.

Refrigerator
After the analysis of the blood, a sample is kept in the refrigerator for a period of 7 days so that it does not have to be pricked again for additional testing. The adhesive chosen has the property of retaining its adhesive properties up to very low temperatures, so that no problems arise at this stage either.

As you can see, Lijnco is also your producer for labels with high requirements.
